Showcasing Southern Chinese Cuisine with inpirations from Hainan Island

Born from a nostalgic yearning for hometown flavors, Hainan House proudly introduces light and refreshing flavours  and our homey Chinese menu. Our approach employs time-honoured culinary techniques to showcase iconic Hainanese dishes like chicken rice, poached poussin (internationally recognised as hainanese chicken), and Yi Bua sticky rice cakes. Rooted in the Qiong Cuisine of Southern China, our culinary style encompasses influences from Canton, Hakka, and Min regions. We're thrilled to bring to London the cherished flavors of our childhood mealtimes.

Crafting a distinctive flavor profile, our goal is to capture cherished food memories along the Southern Chinese path. At Hainan House, we're dedicated to crafting dishes using carefully chosen ingredients. Beyond concocting new recipes, we're often on a journey through South China, unearthing hidden treasures to bring back and share with you. Stay tuned for our specials!

Only lunch sets and noodle dishes are available during weekday hours from 12-5pm, the à la carte menu and our Chinese New Year Special Set Menus are available during weekday evenings and weekend opening hours.

Bowl and Side at £13.50; Bowl and Side and Drink at £15.00.
Options for Noodle Bowls are Beef Hun, Vegetable Claypot, Chicken Hun and Duck Hun.
Options for Rice Bowls are Chicken Rice, Ham Hock Rice, Beef Stew Rice and Cola Chicken Rice. Sides include Chilli Salt Fruit, Braised Cabbage, Pickled Mooli, Tofu & Fermented Beancurd Sauce, Chicken Broth and Duck Broth.

A La Carte Dinner Menu.
We have small plates such as Chilli Salt Fruit, Silken Tofu and Fermented Beancurd Sauce, Steamed Aubergine, Tofu puff and King Oyster Mushroom Stir fry, Cola Wings for 3/5 Wings, Mushroom Rice Wraps.
For claypot options we have Vegetable claypot which is super popular, fish and tofu claypot stew, aromatic beef claypot stew and coconut chicken claypot which is on the sweet side.

For meat, fish and veg options we have fried pork ribs, house-style poached poussin for half or whole, soy braised whole ham hock, stir fried chayote,  steamed whole fish and salted poached duck for quarter, half or whole.
On sides we have stir fried greens, soy garlic lettuce, chicken rice, mushroom fried rice and steamed rice.  Also we have house made sauces such as ginger garlic, mango chilli, yellow chilli and nice chilli oil when you dine in with us. For dessert we call them not too sweet and we have Sticky Rice Cake, Banana Fritters and Sandy Taro chips for you to choose from. =)
